| New: PCI Express Frame Grabber with S-Video and two CVBS Inputs |
With the FALCON Express frame grabber, IDS Imaging Development Systems has rounded off its FALCON range by a board with PCIe interface as well as one S-Video and two CVBS inputs. The new frame grabber supports all color and monochrome cameras that work with standard video signals (PAL, NTSC or SECAM). Two variants are available: for standard PCI Express slots and low-profile slots.
The new model is 100% software compatible with all frame grabbers of the FALCON series. Users can thus switch to a different model anytime without having to adjust the existing application. The driver supports multi-board use and the simultaneous use of PCI and PCI Express boards. A programmable EEPROM is provided for storing the user's own data and can also be used as a dongle.
The Falcon Express board ships with a software development kit (SDK) for all the current Windows operating systems, including Vista, as well as Linux. The SDK comprises not only various demo programs together with the C/C++ source code, but also demos in Visual Basic and Delphi. To allow quick implementation, developers can integrate these demos in their own applications and customize them as required.
A native DirectShow (WDM) driver, an ActiveX component and a TWAIN interface are also available for the users of standard software solutions. In addition external video codecs can be integrated, which allows recording video sequences on hard disk in different formats (e.g. MPEG4). |

| uEye® UI-5480-C - High-Speed Camera for Easy Plug and Play! |
IDS’ new uEye® UI-5480-C model presents a high-speed, high-resolution color camera for demanding applications in industrial and non-industrial machine vision. In addition to a Gigabit Ethernet interface the camera sports a light-sensitive ½" CMOS sensor, which allows resolutions up to 2560 x 1920 pixels (i.e. 5 megapixels).
Up to 12 frames per second are achieved at full resolution. Using sub sampling and binning at sensor level, this frame rate can be increased significantly. Binning also enhances the light sensitivity, as the charges of the combined pixels are not averaged, but added up.
In addition the camera features a variable power supply of 6 to 24V, a C-mount lens adapter with adjustable mounting dimensions and an RS232 interface. Also included are optically decoupled trigger and flash connectors as well as two GPIO ports that can be used either as digital inputs or digital outputs. The camera possesses two independent processor cores that provide superior performance.
The uEye® Camera Manager and the uEye SDK make the GigE camera very easy to integrate. The camera is configured automatically when it is connected to the network—no installation is required at hardware level. These powerful tools as well as many other software applications for Windows and Linux come as an integral part of the camera package at free of charge. |

| New flagship models of the uEye® camera range |
November will be hot! Why? IDS internationally launched the brand-new uEye® camera models with Gigabit Ethernet interface at the VISION show in Stuttgart.
The Gigabit Ethernet uEye® extends the broad range of USB cameras by powerful models for sophisticated, complex machine vision and image processing applications. The bandwidth is 2.5 times higher than with USB and cable lengths up to 100 m are possible.
The GigE is a completely newly developed camera whose rich set of features is based on customers needs and introduces a new performance class. The models are equipped with a C-mount lens connector with adjustable mounting dimensions. A symmetrical housing permits mounting at 90/180 degrees without having to create new holders.
Strong communicative skills are another strong point of the GigE. Besides a trigger input and a flash output, which are both optically decoupled, the newcomers have a RS232 interface and two GPIO ports that can be used either as digital inputs or digital outputs. |

|
| Frame grabber FALCONquattro with PCI Express interface |
The new frame grabber FALCONquattro Express expands our proven FALCON frame grabber series. It features an x1 PCI express bus with a bandwidth of 132 MB. Comparable to the PCI bus in performance, it offers the advantage that the installed boards do not have to share the bandwidth. The “bottleneck” that occurs with multi-board use on conventional PCI buses is thus a thing of the past. The driver supports the simultaneous use of PCI and PCIexpress boards and also all color and monochrome cameras with a standard PAL or NTSC resolution. |
|
| uEye driver release version 2.30 |
The driver version 2.30 combines the modifications of all 2.2x Addon packs. And it enhances the handling with the uEye Autofeatures. |
|
| New: uEye UI-1480-C - "The devil is in the detail..." |
... the new uEye UI-1480-C. 5 mega pixels allow a very high level of detail and the 1/2 inch sensor with rolling and global start shutter offers brilliant images in spite of the pixel size of only 2.2µm. 6 frames per second in high resolution fullframe mode are possible. With the double subsampling function the camera achieves 19 frames per second in a resolution of 1.3 mega pixels - ideal for a quick preview. In global start shutter mode with the aid of a flash it also detects moving objects like a global shutter camera without any time delay. As usual the powerful uEye SDK is included in delivery. |
|
| Gain Boost Brings Light into Darkness |
In difficult light conditions this new function literally brings light into darkness. When gain and exposure are no longer sufficient the analog image signal is “amplified,” brightening the image by a factor of 1.4 to 2.0 depending on the camera model. The gain boost feature is available for all CCD monochrome models and many CMOS versions of the uEye® series. |
| New: uEye driver 2.21 for LINUX |

| uEyeRE cameras - Imaging Everywhere |
Adverse environmental conditions such as dust or moisture affect the proper functioning of sensitive high-precision electronic components. This applies all the more to modern cameras, in which also the connectors and the fine mechanics of the lenses react sensitively to dirt or splash water. But from chipping come chips, as the saying goes: In industrial production, in robotics or outdoors, for example, it will be dusty, it may rain, or lubricants or coolants will need to be used. To accommodate these special requirement, we have designed the uEye® RE USB 2.0 camera family. In connection with the lens tubes they meet the protection classes IP65 and IP67. Furthermore we offer dragline-compatible special cables in lengths outside the USB 2.0 specification for the uEye RE models. |
|
| Accessory for rough environments: The uEye RE Hub |
As consistent as the design of our uEye RE are also its accessories. The uEye RE 4-port hub meets as well as the camera the protection classes IP65 and IP67 and uses the same connectors with screws. To complete the range of accessories the hub is optionally equipped with a DIN rail mounting to faciliate the assembly e.g. in a control cabinet. The connecting cables between hub and camera are available in a standard or dragline-compatible version. |
| New: uEye 3.20 driver |
The development of the uEye cameras goes on. The new driver 3.20 implements in addition to the common known features a greater range of functions which increases the performance of your uEye camera.
The new features at a glance:
- Auto-function assists you in finding the optimal pixelclock:
The new auto-function helps you in setting the optimal pixelclock for your PC to grant an error-free receipt of the image data (in single-camera-operation).
- Gigabit Ethernet uEye models can now be used in class-B-networks. The necessary new starter firmware is included in driver 3.20.
- and a lot more |
