New driver version 3.30 for uEye USB and GigE industrial cameras

To be able to better distinguish the different models of our growing uEye camera family, we decided to add the code “SE” for Standard Edition to our USB uEye Standard models. The cameras themselves will not change – only the model description will be augmented. A UI-1550-C will for example be called UI-1550SE-C. Order numbers will remain the same.
Our Gigabit Ethernet models will follow the same denomination: The new GigE SE models already have the new code as they become available. The current Gigabit Ethernet uEye cameras you are familiar with will use the code „HE“ for High End. Thus a GigE uEye UI-6220-C will be a UI-6220HE-C from now on. Order numbers will also remain the same.
New standard filters for uEye® USB industrial cameras
In the course of product maintenance we will equip our industrial cameras with new standard filters:
All uEye color cameras will be shipped with a High-Quality IR-Cut filter, which we already have been using for some of our cameras. The uEye monochrome cameras will feature a glass filter.
Please note:
- The new filters improve the image quality and the sensitivity. Adapting software settings manually may be necessary for some applications.
- We recommend to use uEye driver version 3.24 or higher with new cameras!
- From April 1st 2009 we will automatically change your orders and ship cameras with the new filters.
Please contact us by March 31st 2009 if you do not want your orders to be changed automatically.
- We will continue to offer various filter options ranging from IR-Cut and Glass to Daylight Cut filters. Those filters are available for all uEye industrial camera models on request.
GigE uEye industrial camera models with angled head
All GigE uEye industrial camera models are now also available as 90° angled head versions. The new design is suitable for applications where the available camera depth is limited.
The German universities Bonn and Freiburg sent their successful 2007 line-up to compete in this year’s robot world cup. Team “NimBro” plays in the KidSize class of the humanoid league. 24 teams from twelve countries succeeded to qualify for the tournament. Having reached the finals, the German players had to face the Japanese team “Osaka” the fourth time in a row. After extra time, “NimBro” scored 7:6 and defended their champions title gained in the previous year.
Like in 2007, the Nimbro “sportsmen” were equipped with three uEyeLE board level cameras connected to an ultra compact PC. Multi camera setups, tightly packed in small place – “It’s so easy” with uEye cameras.
